Polri Opens Dialogue with 4 Regional Heads in Papua, Listens to the Aspirations of the KKB Terrorist Group

The Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Inspector General Argo Yuwono said law enforcement officers opened a dialogue to listen to the aspirations of the Papuan KKB terrorist group.

It is known that there are at least 4 districts that are still prone to operations by 9 Papuan KKB terrorist groups. The four districts are Intan Jaya, Puncak, Nduga and Mimika.

According to Argo, his party has gathered regional heads in the four areas that are still vulnerable. This is to listen to the aspirations of the Papuan KKB.

"Yesterday we gathered, we invited the dialogue. There are the regents, the regents who are prone to KKB. We invite this regent, we invite dialogue, we ask what the problems are there. What do the people want? especially KKB," said Argo at the National Police Headquarters, Jakarta, Monday (31/5/2021).

He conveyed that the aspirations of the regional heads had been conveyed to the TNI Commander and the National Police Chief. Later, these aspirations will be forwarded to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

"The point is that we invite the regents, we invite dialogue to solve the problem. So who knows later from the groups in Papua there can come down and he joins in building a better Papua," he concluded.

Previously, Kabaintelkam Komjen Pol Paulus Waterpauw revealed the identity of the Papuan KKB terrorist group which is still actively carrying out terror in the land nicknamed the black pearl.

Paulus noted that at least 9 Papuan KKB terrorist groups are still active. However, there are also groups that have decided not to actively carry out security disturbances in Papua.

"The current separatist movement is still spreading its own movement by wanting independence through armed violence," Paulus said in an online discussion, Friday (28/5/2021).

The nine terrorist groups that are still active are the Sabinus Walker, Undius Kogoya, and Lewis Kogoya groups who are usually active in the Intan Jaya area of ​​Papua.

Then, the Goliath Tabuni, Lekagak Telenggen, Peni Murib and Ando Waker groups who used to carry out terror around Puncak Papua.

Furthermore, Joni Botak's group, which is usually active in Mimika Papua, and Egianus Kogoya's group, which usually operates in Nduga Papua.

Paul explained that the two inactive Papuan KKB terrorist groups were Mathias Wenda who used to operate in Wutung and Puron Wonda and Endem Wanimbo who used to act in Lanny Jaya.

"There are old figures, Mathias Wenda is no longer active. Puron Wonda and Endem Wanimbo are also inactive," he said.

Furthermore, Paulus said that these groups are the groups responsible for incidents of violence and terror that occurred in Papua.

"The increase in elements of violence and terror which is not only directed at the apparatus, but also targets civilians and damages residents' facilities has entered a brutal stage, so the government has designated the actions of a group of KKB as acts of terrorism," he said.
