Mass vaccination of the Indonesian Navy was invaded by Manokwari residents

The program for the mass invasion of COVID-19 vaccination by the Indonesian Navy in Manokwari Regency exceeded the target with the enthusiasm of residents visiting the vaccination site at the Indonesian Navy's Biryosi dock, West Manokwari, West Papua, Tuesday (6/7/2021).

The Head of the Manokwari Navy's Warship Maintenance and Repair Facility (Kafasharkan), Marine Colonel (t) Purwoko Hadijantono, said that the enthusiasm of the Manokwari community to visit the vaccination site exceeded the target of 100 people originally planned.

He said that to serve the public who were very enthusiastic about getting the AstraZeneca vaccine, Fasharkan TNI AL Manokwari would add another two days to the mass invasion of COVID-19 vaccinations.

"Initially our target was only 100 people, but more than that registered, so we are targeting another 120 people to be vaccinated on Thursday (8/7/2021). It turned out to be even more, so we added another day on Monday (12/7/2021) next week," said Marine Colonel Hadijantono.

He said that at the same time the Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) throughout Indonesia swiftly carried out a COVID-19 vaccination attack, including in Manokwari Regency, which was held from morning until this afternoon.

"The mass attack on the COVID-19 vaccination was a direct order from the Chief of the Naval Staff (KSAL), Admiral TNI Yudo Margono, to support the government's program in efforts to accelerate the prevention and control of the spread of COVID-19," Hadijantono said.

He said the vaccinators deployed in the TNI AL's mass raid on COVID-19 vaccinations came from medical personnel at the Azhar Zahir Hospital of the Indonesian Navy, Manokwari, assisted by vaccinators from the West Papua Port Health Quarantine Office (KKP).

Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the Manokwari KPUD, who is registered and has been injected with the AstraZeneca vaskin in the TNI AL's mass vaccination, assessed that it is very helpful for people who need the COVID-19 vaccine to form communal immunity amidst the increasing transmission of COVID-19 in Manokwari in particular and West Papua in general. .

“The AstraZeneca vaccine is safe, I've been vaccinated. The Navy's mass vaccination program in Manokwari is of course invaded by residents because currently the number of positive cases of COVID-19 continues to increase and people's awareness to form self-defense is starting to build," said Abdul Muin Salewe.
