OTSUS SHOULD BE CONTINUED

The support for the sustainability of Special Autonomy (Otsus) in Papua this time came from a former member of the Tambrauw Regency KPU, Carlos Awabity as he assessed that the Otsus policy that had been running for 20 years had benefited the indigenous Papuans, especially in Tambrauw Regency.

"Otsus should be continued, because the policy is very supportive of the welfare of the indigenous Papuan people," he said.

Carlos added that the impact of Special Autonomy in the fields of health, education, economic empowerment and infrastructure development greatly supports progress in Papua.

He hopes that the sustainability of Otsus in the future can be followed up by paying attention to people who are in the outermost or remote areas.

He also invited all elements of the indigenous Papuan community to continue to support the continuation of the Special Autonomy. "Otsus is for us, let's support its continuation for Papua to progress and prosper," concluded Carlos.
