TNI/Polri Ready to Backup the Jayawijaya Covid-19 Team to Do Tracing
The TNI/Polri in Jayawijaya are ready to back up the local government to carry out tracing or swaping and spontaneous antigen swabs at several points in the city of Wamena which have a fairly high rate of Covid-19 transmission.
This random and spontaneous antigen-swiping and swab will begin after the temporary closure of flights entering Jayawijaya, starting on Monday 12 July.
"The Indonesian National Police backed up by the TNI walked together to carry out antigens at several points, especially focusing on the Yalimo refugees, which there were approximately a thousand people," said Jayawijaya Police Chief AKBP Dominggus Rumaropen at a press conference with the media on the 3rd floor of the Jayawijaya Autonomous Building, Thursday (08/07/ 2021).
According to him, based on information from the Covid-19 medical team, there were several refugee residents from Yalimo who were exposed to Covid-19 in the refugee area, so that would be the main target.
On the same occasion, Dandim 1702/Jayawijaya Lt. Col. Inf. AB. Situmeang supports the local government in handling Covid-19 in Jayawijaya.
"We think this step (temporary closure of passenger flights) is to help reduce the number of Covid-19 in our region," said Dandim.
According to him, this will make it easier for officers to trace and test samples at several points that they feel need to be wary of, one of which is the Yalimo refugee site.
He also thanked the Jayawijaya community for their enthusiastic participation in the vaccination held by Kodim 1702/Jayawijaya according to the president's call.
"We are opening vaccination activities starting from the Regional Government, Polres and Kodim, the public's interest is increasing. This shows that awareness of participating in vaccines is increasing," he said.
For this reason, he invites people who have not received Covid-19 to visit Kodim 1702/Jayawijaya or Battalion 756 Wimanesile to get free vaccination services.
