After PON, Papua Prepares to Hold National Paralympic Week

After PON XX, Papua is preparing to hold the National Paralympic Week or Papernas XVI again. This activity took place in the City and District of Jayapura.

Peparnas XVI Papua will take place from 2-15 November 2021 by competing in 12 sports in 12 arenas with 1,985 athletes and 740 officials.

In the promotion of Peparnas, the committee prepares culinary specialties of regional foods and beverages produced by MSME actors for free. The promotion took place on 19 October in the courtyard of the Papua Governor's Office.

Coordinator of the promotion and marketing of PB Peparnas Papua, Deborah Solosa, said that the launching of the Peparnas promotion event will be filled with local artists.

"The event was also enlivened by Wiwa band, De'Sagoo, MAC DJ Sammy, stability groups, the saxhophone community, comic bands, and others," said Deborah in Jayapura City, Papua, Sunday (17/10/2021).

Deborah hopes for the support of sponsors from various companies and business actors in the region to make the implementation of the XVI Papua National Paralympic Week a success in 2021.

Deborah said that Papuan specialties at the sponsor's launch program included sago ice cream, papeda wraps, sago pukis, green beans, pineapple and Robongholo mineral water.

"This water is the official bottled drink of Peparnas XVI Papua," he said.
