Army Chief of Staff Dudung Abdurachman: KKB Papua is not the enemy, but our brothers

The Army Chief of Staff (KSAD), General TNI Dudung Abdurachman, said the armed criminal group (KKB) was not the enemy.

According to Dudung Abdurachman, the members of the KKB are citizens who do not yet understand the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.

He conveyed the message while visiting Kodam XVIII/Kasuari, West Papua, Thursday (25/11/2021).
 
After being inaugurated by President Jokowi, the Army Chief of Staff admitted that he was immediately ordered to visit areas where there were operations, including Papua and West Papua.

"After I was sworn in, it was my intention to visit remote areas where there was an operation task," said Dudung Abdurachman to a number of media crew, Thursday (11/25/2021).

The Army Chief of Staff wants to see the readiness, and the steps that will be taken in Papua and West Papua.
 
"I emphasize to all members on duty, that the KKB is not our enemy," said Dudung Abdurachman.

"They (KKB) are our friends who do not understand the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia," he said.

He asked all members not to even think about killing them.

"Unless it's really necessary because they started it," said the Army Chief of Staff.

He said TNI members should be able to try to reach them (KKB) with a number of activities in order to give them an understanding to jointly develop Papua.

"I say, love the people of Papua and love the people of Papua. Because if a sense of love and compassion has been realized, then this development will proceed in such a way," he said.

Dudung said President Jokowi was very concentrated on development in Papua.

"This is within the territory of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, which we must defend," said Dudung Abdurachman.

Only, must arouse the spirit of love for the nation and state.

"The TNI AD must be able to appear as the front guard, to support the central government (President) in strengthening the sense of nationality and love for the homeland," he said.

The concept of Kodam XVIII/Casuari

Not only that, Dudung Abdurachman was also impressed by the concept created by the ranks of the XVIII/Kasuari Military Command.

"I saw that at Kodam XVIII/Kasuari what Pandam made was extraordinary," he said.

The TNI soldiers who will be assigned to remote areas of West Papua have been equipped with abilities, both in agriculture and animal husbandry so that the community will no longer have difficulties because the TNI is already there.
