“I really regret that a conflict like this happened in Sugapa. The armed contact that has taken place has made the community difficult, they are very afraid. Right now, the community is the victim of the conflict,” said Father Frans Sondegau.

Father Frans, after the incident, hoped that there would never be another arson and prolonged conflict that would happen again.

"There will be no more security disturbances in Intan Jaya, we want to live here in peace, doing activities as usual. There is no one who suffers the most except the community itself,"

Filipus Sondegau as a resident of Bilogai revealed that the existence of the separatist group has greatly disrupted people's lives. The savagery of the spearatic group in carrying out their actions is considered to be indiscriminate.

“We are not talking about immigrants or natives (Papuans), all can become victims of this separatist group. That's why now everyone is scared, everyone is running to save themselves."

Filipus added that at this time the frightened residents had to flee to the Santo Misael Catholic Church and the TNI and Polri security posts. He added that he had admitted that he was worried about the large number of refugees, because he thought it would have another impact.

“We, the people, have nothing. If there is chaos, we can only run and protect ourselves. Now many are running to the church, there are also some at the security post. We can only hope that there will be no more chaos here."
