World Class Aroma at the Opening of Papua National Park
The opening ceremony of the XVI Papua National Paralympic Week (Peparnas) at the Mandala stadium, Jayapura, Friday (5/11) night WIB will feature drone attractions.
Head of the Opening and Closing Ceremony (OCC) of Peparnas XVI Papua, Toton Hutomi said that his party displayed a party of light from drones to carry the theme of the ceremony 'Light from East Papua'. He ensured that the concept of the event was very different from the opening ceremony of the XX Papua PON which was completed last October.
"We will witness history at the Mandala stadium. The sky of Papua will glow from a combination of LED lights, fireworks, and a lighting show of 500 drones. This will be different from PON," he said in a virtual press conference attended by Republika.co.id , Thursday (4/11).
He said that the committee had deliberately brought hundreds of drones from California and Dubai to make the event a success. Not only drones are imported, the pilots are also imported from Europe and Singapore.
In addition to the light show, the committee will present musical performances from Indonesian artists such as Addie MS, Anggun, Nowella, Edo Kondologit, and other local Papuan art activists. Like in PON, the National Peparnas will also be enlivened with traditional dances that have received direct directions from anthropologists and local culturalists.
"We have invited 950 dancers from various studios and schools. They have been practicing for three months. The concept (dance) will represent the five traditional areas of Papua," he said.
Toton hopes that the success of the Peparnas opening ceremony will be a milestone in sports events in Papua. According to him, Jayapura is worthy of being one of Indonesia's representatives in holding a big agenda.
Just counting the hours before the implementation, his party has also coordinated with medical personnel and security forces to support the continuity of the event.
"This (event) also places Jayapura as one of the world's elite cities in the opening ceremony. Everything that is displayed will not lose to the (opening) of the Tokyo Olympics because at least 2,800 people are involved in this agenda," he said.
The Papuan Police will increase security around the XVI Papua National Paralympic Week (Peparnas) arena for the next two weeks.
Moreover, the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ma'ruf Amin, is scheduled to attend the opening ceremony of Peparnas XVI Papua at the Mandala stadium, Jayapura city, Friday (5/11) evening WIB.
Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police, Kombes Pol. Ahmad Mustofa Kamal said his party had conducted a rehearsal to ensure security at the ceremony venue. The police have prepared 779 joint forces consisting of the Papua Regional Police, the Jayapura City Police, and the TNI.
"There are four doors that will be opened at the Mandala stadium for the general public and VVIP. Because there is a vice president, we have prepared rings 1 to 4 for security inside and outside the stadium," he said.
In addition to security, the police through the Dirlantas Polda Papua have also made a design for road access modifications that will be opened and diverted. According to him, it is useful to break people's concentration at one point.
On the one hand, Ahmad asked the public to watch the Peparnas opening ceremony from home to prevent the transmission of Covid-19. Although the spread of the corona virus is slowly getting under control, he hopes the public remains vigilant.
To prevent excessive mass concentration, the Papuan Police have also prepared large screens that broadcast live events at several strategic points.
"We are not closing the road, just diverting it. We hope that people watch from home even though there are already videotrons in some areas," he said.
