Like Heaven's Wind, this Trans-Papua Road is predicted to reduce poverty

A number of regions in Indonesia are still carrying out development to advance their territory.

One of them is the construction of the Trans-Papua Road.

Trans-Papua is one of the most monumental road construction projects.

Not kidding, this road stretches from the bird's head area in the Domberai Customary Area, Sorong, West Papua, to Bumi Anim Ha in Merauke, Papua.

Fantastic, the length of this road is predicted to be four times the distance from Jakarta to Surabaya which is recorded as long as 800 km.

The length of the road is about 3,492 km.

Reporting from the setkab.go.id website via kompas.com, the construction of the Trans-Papua Road has reached 3,446 km by September 2021.

As long as 1,733 km have been asphalted and 1,712 km have not been asphalted.

This development is included in the National Strategic Project and the Mid-Term Development Plan No. 2020-2024.

This road was built to improve the welfare of the Papuan people by increasing access and connectivity between regions.

Thus, the existence of this road will open up previously isolated areas.

Before the road network, connections between regions in Papua required air transportation as a supporting tool.

This of course has an impact on the prices of basic necessities which become more expensive.

The development of Trans-Papua is expected to be able to reduce the cost index and reduce the poverty rate.

President Joko Widodo hopes that the mobility of goods, the mobility of people, and the delivery of logistics can be even faster and be able to reduce transportation logistics costs.
