PLN inaugurates the processing of tilapia shredded fish
PT PLN (Persero) together with the Jayapura City Government inaugurated the "Nila" Community Self-Help Group (KSM) fish floss processing business in the South Jayapura District as a form of concern in improving the local community's economy.
Senior Manager of Finance, Communication and General Affairs of PLN's Papua and West Papua Regional Main Unit Rio Widiya Nugraha in Jayapura, Monday, said this is a form of PLN's commitment and responsibility to the community.
"Seeing the potential in Hamadi Village, which is rich in fish catches, it is felt that it needs to be maximized by processing this," he said.
According to Rio, his party hopes that with the training that is made, production activities will become more productive where with new knowledge, it is expected to continue to provide innovation and improve quality so that sales will increase.
Meanwhile, Head of KSM "Nila" Rosdiana said that his party expressed his gratitude to PLN for providing training assistance to members of his group where in developing a business good quality is needed to be able to compete with other products.
"Thanks for PLN's concern for the business we run, for which we are grateful that with this assistance, production activities that had been stopped can resume running with increased capabilities, hopefully in the future it can be more productive so that additional income can also increase," he said.
In addition, Deputy Mayor of Jayapura, Rustan Saru, said that his party expressed his appreciation to PLN and all parties who have coordinated, cooperated, and collaborated in helping the community, especially in the economic sector.
"Thank you PLN for your attention to the community, especially in Jayapura City, hopefully the assistance provided can be utilized as best as possible and what has been running can continue to be improved both in terms of production and promotion, this is very important, especially from the packaging that must look beautiful and interesting," he said.
Just to note, through the Social and Environmental Responsibility Program (TJSL), assistance worth Rp. 80 million was given by PLN to the Community Self-Help Agency (BKM) "Maju Bersama Hamadi" which was used to create empowerment and training in fish processing.
In collaboration with the Papua Provincial Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Office, this activity is deemed necessary to improve the capabilities of the community, especially group members, where this is also aimed at making the products made by KSM "Nila" have added value and good quality.
