TNI and Residents Build Clean Water Channels in Lanny Jaya Papua

Soldiers from the TNI Battalion Battalion MR 412/Kostrad Pos Malagay helped build reservoirs and clean water canals to meet the needs of residents of Lanny Jaya Regency in the mountains of Papua.

Commander of the Malagay Post, Battalion 412/Kostrad, Inf Zulfahmi Khaidir Depari, in a written statement received in Lanny Jaya, Saturday, said that previously members of the post had heard local residents' complaints regarding the difficulty of getting clean water.

“Hearing the complaint, the postal members worked together with local residents to build a clean water reservoir. This has long been expected by the people of Malagay," he said.

Captain Zulfahmi Depari said that with the existence of clean water reservoirs built by local residents, especially mothers, they did not have to climb the hill behind the village to get clean water.

"The location of the clean water reservoir is quite strategic, in the middle of public facilities, namely between churches, village halls, district offices and health centers," said Depari.

With this clean water reservoir, it is hoped that it can provide solutions and benefits to the community, so that the presence of the TNI Task Force provides benefits for residents at the assignment.

Meanwhile, the Head of Numbokawi Village, Leis Kiwo, said that all this time, residents had to take clean water for washing, cooking and drinking, they had to walk quite a distance to the water source at the edge of the forest.

“With the existence of clean water reservoirs, residents are greatly helped. On behalf of the people, I would like to thank the TNI gentlemen," he said.
