Sorong DPRD Supports the Expansion of Southwest Papua Province

Member of Commission II of the Sorong City DPRD, Syafrudin Sabonama, expressed his support for the Sorong City DPRD for the expansion of Southwest Papua Province.

The statement was conveyed in a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) which took place at the Lambertus Jitmau Building.
 
“In time the native people in this land will be extinct, because there is no more room for them. Papua is an ideology, not a tribe anymore," said Sabonama.

He revealed, if the ideology is not regulated properly, later they will find their own way.

According to him, Papuans should not be pitied through the affirmation programs created, because they are capable and smart to manage their own place.
 
"Because Papuans are fighters, fighters and conquerors, not beggars," he said.
 
So he hopes that in the future, the rights of the Papuan people will be realized immediately, and let them regulate their respective regions.
