The Papuan Regional Police Chief Inspector General Mathius Fakhiri said he had asked the Puncak Regent to actively communicate with the Papuan KKB, which often disturbs his territory to reduce conflict.

"I have been communicating with the Regent of Puncak since Saturday (19/2) and asked to actively communicate with the KKB considering they are also residents of the area," said Inspector General Pol Fakhiri, Sunday (20/2/2022).
 
In addition to asking the Regent of Puncak to communicate actively, his party has also informed that the TNI-Polri will carry out extra tight security.

The steps to be taken are being prepared, said Fakhiri.

He also added that he had also asked the Puncak Police Chief to urge the public not to move outside the house if it was not essential.

"If you want to go to war, we will prepare a battlefield, so that the people will retreat and you will fight against the TNI-Polri. That's just men, don't make people afraid or become victims," he said.

He considered that all this time the Papuan KKB said its goal was to fight for independence, but only the residents themselves or their own families were killed.
