To support the entrepreneurial ecosystem and encourage young entrepreneurs in Papua to advance their business, PT. Freeport Indonesia spent Rp. 612 million which was used from the start of the activity in 2021. Starting from training and mentoring facilities for 250 participants, as well as business capital given to the 30 best participants who had passed the selection.

“PTFI's support for the development of Papua's human resource capacity is part of the company's commitment to contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We believe that our role together with other parties will contribute to
improving the welfare and independence of the Papuan people," said Engel Enoch.
According to the Deputy Director of Inspirational Papua for the Papua Region, Neil Leonardo Aiwoy, PT. Freeport Indonesia as one of the oldest multinational companies in Papua has taken the right steps in strengthening human resources and creating an entrepreneurial ecosystem in Papua.
It is hoped that this activity will serve as an example for other companies to accelerate the development of Papua and West Papua.
“Freeport has taken the right steps through this link & match activity. I hope this can be used as an example for multinational companies in Papua who carry out activities like this, especially in strengthening human resources,” said Neil.
These young business people who come from various regions in the provinces of Papua and West Papua have different and varied types of business. For example, the Sago Kelapa Bakar business owned by Tobias Keije, a young man from Merauke. He expressed his joy when he passed to the stage of receiving this venture capital assistance.
“This fund will be very useful for my business, namely roasted coconut sago to be more advanced and developed. I also want to open a new business. Having my own business, not only helps my economy personally, but I can also open up job opportunities for other people. Thank you Freeport, Inspirational Young Papua and Kitong Bisa. Hopefully there will be more activities like this to help,” said Tobias.
The Inspirational Young Papua Movement (PMI) itself is active in encouraging MSMEs that are run by young local businessmen by conducting training, coaching and mentoring. This is done by Inspirational Young Papua to support the acceleration of development in Papua and Papua
West. In line with Neil, the Inspirational Young Papuan MSME Program Manager Elia Musa Rawar appreciated the activities of PT. Freeport Indonesia, which has sponsored Link & Match activities.
