The Biak Regency Government provides competency skills for Papuan job seekers

The Biak Numfor Papua Regency Government provides Papuan native job seekers (OAP) with competency-based skills as ready-to-use workforce.

"By having vocational skills in automotive, electrical, building, welding, electronics and garment engineering, you are ready to enter the world of work," said Assistant II to the Biak Regional Secretary Lod Yensenem after closing competency-based vocational training at the Biak UKM Job Training Workshop, Wednesday.

Lod acknowledged that the Biak Numfor district government's efforts were to train and provide vocational skills in accordance with job demands.

Having vocational skills, according to Lod, is also expected to open up new job opportunities for OAP youths in Biak Numfor.

"OAP youths who have completed vocational training have competency-based skills," said the former Head of the Biak Education Office.

One of the OAP youths, Yakob Brumi, admitted that he was very happy and proud to receive competency-based vocational training provided by the Biak Numfor Regency Government through the UPTD LLK UKM Biak.

"I have a lot of knowledge about buildings after completing competency-based vocational training," said Yakob Brumi, answering Antara in Biak, Wednesday.

Based on data from 96 competency-based vocational training participants, 91 participants were declared to have passed the BNSP national certificate and five others did not graduate because they did not complete competency-based vocational skills education.
