GOOD NEWS: Indigenous Peoples from 32 Countries will Attend KMAN in Jayapura Papua in October



A total of 32 countries have confirmed that they will send representatives of their indigenous peoples to Jayapura Regency, Papua, next October.

They will participate in the 6th Indigenous Peoples Congress of the Archipelago (KMAN)

This was conveyed by the Secretary of KMAN Jayapura Regency, Septer Manufandu in Sentani, Sentani City District, Thursday (14/7/2022).
 
In addition to indigenous peoples from all over Indonesia, the KMAN VI committee is coordinating with delegates from 32 countries.
 
"Of the 32 countries, we don't know the exact members, but one or two representatives," said Septer to Tribun-Papua.com.

The Indigenous Peoples Congress of the Archipelago will be held on October 24-30, 2022.

Approximately 2,444 indigenous communities from the Alliance of Indigenous Peoples of the Archipelago (AMAN) and an additional 20 communities from Papua were involved in this grand celebration.
 
In addition to cultural performances and workshops on the theme of health, education, culture, traditional organizations, the top agenda is also a reorganization of alliance leadership.

Previous information, as many as 5,400 indigenous peoples from all over the archipelago will be present in Jayapura Regency.
 
The guests will stay in 26 villages in the Districts of East Sentani, Sentani, Ebungfauw, West Sentani, and Waibu.
