TPNPB-OPM is considered to be starting to get frustrated

The series of inhumane acts carried out by armed civilian groups over the past few weeks have been criticized by various parties.

There are those who consider this to attract public and international attention, there are also those who consider this part of an effort to spread terror to the community members to leave a location.

However, another analysis was conveyed by an academic from the University of Cenderawasih (Uncen) Jayapura, Marinus Yaung who actually considered the behavior of this armed civilian group as an expression of frustration from a diplomacy that was considered a failure.

According to Marinus, what the OPM and ULMWP have done so far has been deadlocked, so this group vents its frustration by using civil society as its victim.

“I saw that the KKB in Nduga were becoming more and more sadistic and dangerous. They are getting more and more vicious by targeting civilians. Here the state must be present more firmly in taking action against the Nduga KKB. It is necessary to immediately hold a special and limited military operation to crush this armed criminal group," Yaung said via his cellphone, Wednesday (20/7).

Their massacre actions (KKB) against civilians are said to show that the free Papuan fighters in the forest have been frustrated.

They are frustrated with the struggle for Free Papua. According to Marinus Yaung, Egianus kogoya and the Nduga KKB group were actually angry with the deceitful diplomacy and nonsense of Jeffrey Pegawak and Sebby Sambom. They are also angry and disappointed with the deceitful diplomacy and abuse by Benny Wenda with his ULMWP.

"Out of frustration with the failure of OPM and ULMWP diplomacy in the Pacific, Europe and at the United Nations, Egianus Kogoya and his group vented it by massacring any civil society, both Papuans and non-Papuans," Yaung explained.

He even heard that Egianus Kogoya had prepared bullets to shoot Benny Wenda, Jeffrey Employee and Sebby Sambom, although Sebby Sambom himself was seen continuously releasing to the public media related to the actions of Egianus and his group. "Actually, the relationship between Egianus and Sebby has cracked and they don't trust each other anymore. So I think it's natural for Egianus to be angry with Sebby, Jeffrey, and Benny Wenda. Egianus struggles to risk his life in the forests of Papua while OPM and ULMWP diplomats enjoy all the facilities and luxuries of living abroad from the struggles of Egianus and his group in the forests of Ndugama," he quipped.

This fact made Egianus and his group very angry and frustrated in the struggle. Then the purpose of the massacre, according to the International Relations lecturer, Fisip Uncen, was frustration and hatred, where because they could not touch the TNI-Polri apparatus, this group eventually targeted civilians. “And they realize that they have been deceived or lied to by the ULMWP diplomacy by the OPM and they understand that. They know they are being tricked and used by ULMWP to gain economic and material benefits while Egianus struggles in the forest,” he added.

Because they could not touch the TNI-Polri, the cowardly method was carried out by looking for weak and unprotected civilians. “So actually Egianus and his friends understand that their political struggle has reached a dead end. In addition, this group must also understand that the armed violence used to achieve Papuan independence does not get the sympathy of the international community,” he added.

But what he needs to remember, according to him, is that the international community has rejected violent means to achieve goals.

“If they continue to use violent methods like this, carry out sadistic murders, and even kill a priest, it will not get international sympathy and support. The world will even criticize so that the goal of independence is just nonsense, it will not be achieved," he concluded.
