An employee dies after being shot by KKB in Intan Jaya

The Papuan Police revealed that an armed criminal group (KKB) had shot a worker in Mamba Village, Sugapa District, Intan Jaya Regency, Papua on Tuesday (30/8/2022). The victim was named Manoach Rumansara who was an employee of PT MUJ.

Head of Public Relations of the Papuan Police, Kombes Police, Ahmad Musthofa Kamal, said the incident occurred at around 09.30 WIT.

"It is true that we have just received that there has been a shooting of a road worker in Mamba Village, Sugapa District. The victim is an employee of PT MUJ who works as a heavy equipment operator every day," said Kamal through his statement, Tuesday (30/8/2022).

Kamal explained that Manoach had gunshot wounds to his left hand and right hand and waist. Kamal said that the victim was still alive when he was evacuated to the Puskesmas, but when he was about to be evacuated to Nabire, the victim had died.
 
"The victim at around 12:10 WIT was evacuated to Nabire Regency using a Smart PK-SNP aircraft and will be buried by the family," he explained.

According to Kamal, the perpetrator is a KKB in the Intan Jaya area. It said it was still investigating who the perpetrators were and the motive behind the shooting.

"But what is certain is that this shooting was carried out by the KKB," he said.
 
Furthermore, Kamal explained that currently the joint team is at the location and is still pursuing the perpetrators of violence that resulted in the death of one of the residents.

"Our team is currently investigating the case. After the shooting, the situation is safe and conducive. Joint forces are still pursuing the perpetrators of the shooting," he said.
