Just Catch the Pillars That Will Demo Reject DOB

DOB is actually not just a wish but a necessity for the indigenous people in Biak district, because in the 1945 Constitution it has also been explained that our territory is divided into large and small areas. What is meant here is the new regional autonomy and OTSUS itself, this was stated by Yulius Yunus Komisba Mandobondibo.

Yulius, who is the Head of the Biak Tribe, said that the existence of this new autonomous region will have an impact on the community which will open up job opportunities, open better access to education and health and so on which will lead to an increase in community welfare.

"We from the Biak customary institution state that the government should have realized the New Autonomous Region in Papua, as well as more specifically with the province of the North Papua Islands which will be domiciled in Biak later," said Yulius, who represents the indigenous people of Biak.

Furthermore, Julius explained that the new autonomous regions are certainly welcomed by the people, if there are parties or groups who reject it, it is only a decoration of democracy. The point is that DOB and OTSUS are very necessary and will certainly expand the space for movement that can provide the welfare of the wider community.

"So what do you want to argue about for Saireri, because history has also recorded the great services of freedom fighters for Indonesia, this DOB can provide opportunities for young people or Saireri's next generation," he explained.

What is actually being fought for in the interests of future generations, so if there is a plan for a demonstration on May 10, what is the purpose and objective? if necessary just catch them.

As the leader of the Biak Indigenous Institution, I represent our community stating that the Biak Indigenous Community Institute fully supports the government's program, especially the DOB for the North Papua Islands Province or the KPU which covers the Saireri area. There are no other commitments or other spare tires, only supporting DOB and OTSUS.

"I also want to convey here to Kopimda, just arrest the pillars of those who will carry out the demonstration, instead of bringing people who don't know anything and then brutal actions will occur which will affect the community later," he asked.

I have also emphasized to my entire community not to take part in the May 10 action, which aims to reject new autonomous regions and OTSUS because we have been fighting for new autonomous regions not just yesterday but since 2004, and we thank the state for deciding on new autonomous regions in Indonesia. Papua region," concluded Julius.
