Synergize to Stop KST Violence against Civilians

Synergy is really needed by all elements ranging from the community, the government to all law enforcement officers if they really want to stop the violence carried out by KST Papua to cause civilians to become victims.

The actions that have been carried out by the Papuan Separatist and Terrorist Group (KST) are indeed very troubling to the community and may even spread threats in the form of fear due to how brutal they are to massacre civilians. This, of course, cannot be left alone so that the entire community must be able to work together to stop it.

Previously, it was known that on Saturday (16/7) there had indeed been a massacre carried out by KST Papua against civilians, precisely in Nagolait Village, Nduga Regency, resulting in 11 deaths, including religious leaders. who are victims.

The officers in charge also had a little difficulty when they wanted to evacuate one of the victims because the location was quite far from the starting point of the massacre, even when the joint TNI-Polri personnel who departed experienced gun contact with the KST group.

But in the end, the evacuation was successfully carried out after KST was knocked back and fled. The authorities immediately intervened to hold a crime scene (TKP) by collecting several testimonies from residents around the crime scene. The result was quite surprising because the victims actually had absolutely nothing to do with it and did not know that KST would carry out this action in their village.

Kombes Achmad Mustofa Kamal as the Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police also explained that there had been a chase between civilians and KST when residents saw them using weapons. Suddenly the residents had fled to run into the forest but were chased by the KST. This clearly shows that the actions of these separatist and terrorist groups seem to be deliberately killing and looking for victims.

With this incident, the long record of KST Papua has increased again because they have been actively carrying out their actions for the past six months. Even the data shows that since the first half of 2022 alone there have been 44 cases which resulted in around 20 people losing their lives.

Furthermore, the Papuan Police Chief, Inspector General Mathius D Fakhiri gave a direct appeal to the entire community to never set foot in an area that is prone to conflict, but because there are economic demands in order to earn a living, they are forced to visit these vulnerable areas.

With the increase in cases carried out from the KST Papua action, of course the security and safety of the community is very vulnerable, so the Papuan Police held a joint meeting with the TNI and emphasized that they would continue to carry out a pattern of handling and even further improve it.

Kapolda Fakhiri stated that the synergy must really be carried out very well when in the field between the joint officers. Then from the community's point of view, he hopes that residents will also be able to increase their vigilance, especially when in the Papua Mountains area when carrying out daily activities.

The increasing number of brutal actions that have been carried out by KST Papua has also made the Commander of the VXII/Cendrawasih Military Command, Major General TNI Teguh Muji Angkasa, stated that his party will fully support and prepare to handle this KST Papua together with the Papuan Police. He also agreed that the synergy of all parties is one of the most important elements to be continuously improved.

Meanwhile, on the other hand, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD also commented on the massacre case that had been carried out by KST Papua. According to him, they are the enemy of all the people. Then he emphasized that the Government would not remain silent and would take strict action against it.

Mahfud MD also stated that the actions taken by KST were completely deviated and did not reflect how the true Papuan people are actually very peace-loving and civilized. Even so, the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs also emphasized that the Government would not recklessly take action by directly carrying out military operations on Cendrawasih Earth, but instead the efforts taken by the Government were to use a welfare approach to be able to build a better Papua.

Firm action is indeed very appropriate to take, in addition to being able to quickly uncover cases and arrest Papuan KST who was involved in the massacre, but also will certainly have the effect of increasing a sense of security in the community and of course law enforcement as in accordance with the law.

On the other hand, actually Mahfud MD himself considered that universally the conditions that had occurred in Papua, even to this moment, were still relatively conducive because events such as the KST massacre only occurred in a few locations and could not be considered as if they represented all conditions in the country. Papuans.

All law enforcement officers from the National Police to the TNI are determined to continue to improve synergy in the field in order to be able to immediately arrest and thoroughly investigate the massacres that have been perpetrated by KST Papua on civilians. The government has also given the same commitment, so that the public is continuously encouraged to increase their self-awareness. If all elements are able to synergize well, then of course KST Papua will be easily defeated.
