Wetipo: The concept of spatial planning to be the future city of South Papua

Deputy Minister of Home Affairs (Wamendagri) John Wempi Watipo conveyed that the concept of spatial planning must be built properly and structured so that in the future it becomes a role model for future city development in South Papua.

"It is hoped that with the government's commitment and community support, the development process in the future can be better," he said in a release received in Jayapura, Monday.

According to Jhon, Kurik District as an Independent Integrated City (KTM) of Salor is very strategic for the location of the Central Government of South Papua Province.

"There is also a plan to build a state building," he said

He explained as stated by the Merauke Regent that access from KTM Salor is closer to Mappi Regency and also to Boven Digoel.

"So we think it is very suitable, especially since this area is very flat, and this basic infrastructure support has been built, and the most important thing now is how in the future a better development planning concept is made," said the former Jayawijaya regent for two periods.

The existence of KTM Salor, said Wetipo, can immediately increase the welfare of the community, both transmigrants and local residents, as well as the development of urban infrastructure in border locations that have been underdeveloped and underdeveloped.

The Vice Minister of Home Affairs made a working visit to Merauke Regency in the context of socializing preparations for the inauguration of South Papua Province on Friday (29/7).
