Papuan youth leaders support the KPK in solving the alleged corruption case of Governor Enembe

Papuan Youth Leader Martinus Kasuay supports the efforts of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to resolve the alleged corruption case of Papua Governor Lukas Enembe.

"It is only natural that whoever is guilty must be given criminal sanctions in accordance with the applicable legal process," he said in a written statement in Jakarta, Sunday.

The secretary of the Barisan Merah Putih stated that the corruption case that ensnared the Governor of Papua Lukas Enembe was a personal case that had nothing to do with politicization or criminalization.

"The case is purely related to the law," he said.

He emphasized that in Indonesia no society is above the law, even though the person has a position in the government.

He hopes that all those involved in the corruption case of Papua Governor Lukas Enembe must be investigated, if found guilty they must be punished and otherwise will be released if not proven guilty.

Martinus appealed to all Papuan people to understand that all of this is an ongoing legal process and no one should interfere on the basis of certain interests.

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has sent a second summons to Papua Governor Lukas Enembe (LE) to be questioned as a suspect at the KPK Red and White Building, Jakarta, Monday (26/9).

"Yes, from the information we have obtained, it is true that the summons as a suspect has been sent by the KPK Investigative Team. The examination is scheduled for Monday, September 26, 2022, at the KPK Red and White Building," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri in Jakarta, Thursday.

Ali said previously that Lukas Enembe did not attend the KPK summons to be examined in his capacity as a witness on Monday (12/9).

"This is the second summons, where previously the person concerned was called as a witness to appear on September 12, 2022, but confirmed that he could not attend," said Ali.

The KPK expects Lukas Enembe to be cooperative by attending the summons of the investigator team on the second summons.

Previously, Aloysius Renwarin as Luke Enembe's lawyer confirmed that his client had received a second summons from the KPK.

"Yes, the call was received on 26 (September 2022)," Renwarin said in his statement, Wednesday (21/9).

However, he could not confirm further whether his client will attend the call or not. According to him, Luke Enembe is still sick.

"Yeah, we'll see if he can come or is still sick; but he's still sick, maybe he won't be there, which is clear he's still sick," he said.
