Participants of the BPJS Health program will take part in a health history screening
The Health Social Security Administration (BPJS) ensures that all participants in the health program will follow a medical history screening as an early detection step to detect diseases in the body.
Assistant Deputy for Performance Management at the Deputy Regional Office for Papua and West Papua BPJS Kesehatan Andi Budiyono in Manokwari, Tuesday, said screening health history is one way to determine risk factors for disease.
"Through medical history screening, the disease can be identified early and what efforts can be made before the disease becomes severe," said Budiyono.
In that context, BPJS Kesehatan continues to improve social security services in the health sector through preventive and promotive programs to raise public awareness of healthy living.
In addition to written screening on the Mobile JKN application, BPJS participants are also allowed to visit first-level health facilities to carry out complete health consultations such as checking blood pressure.
"We are currently socializing complete health screening, we can also conduct disease risk consultations with family doctors or at first health facilities such as health centers and clinics," he explained.
Budiyono said that currently BPJS Kesehatan continues to socialize because so far people only understand the use of the BPJS health program only as treatment.
"There are still many who think that the benefits of BPJS are only when they are sick or healing, even though there are other facilities that can be used as well," he said.
Member of the National Social Security Council (DJSN) from the employee element Subiyanto during a visit to the Manokwari Hospital said the program was encouraged to reduce the risk of illness in the community with healthy living behaviors.
"If people know from the beginning the risk of illness that will be accepted, they will be more careful, because prevention is better than cure," said Subiyanto.
