PT Pos Manokwari distributes basic food assistance to five districts

PT Pos Indonesia Manokwari Branch Office, West Papua, handles the distribution of basic food assistance (BSP) to five districts in West Papua Province, namely Manokwari, South Manokwari, Arfak Mountains, Bintuni Bay, and Wondama Bay.

Head of the Manokwari Branch Post Office, Johannes Kesaulija in Manokwari, West Papua, Monday, said the distribution of BSP had reached 62 percent with a total target of 22,427 beneficiary families (KPM).

"For KPM that have not been distributed because their location of residence is far from Manokwari, such as in Teluk Wondama Regency, there are eight islands that have not been distributed by this BSP," he said.

The amount of BSP receipts for each KPM is IDR 600 thousand, which in its distribution is proven by a population identification number (NIK) according to recipient data issued by the Ministry of Social Affairs.

Of the total BSP targets in West Papua, as many as 22,427 KPM, 13,938 KPM have received basic food assistance. The remaining 8,489 KPM have not been distributed.

The details of BSP distribution per district, namely Teluk Wondama reached 42 percent with 1,400 KPM remaining, Bintuni Bay 71 percent and 1,000 KPM remaining, and Manokwari 79 percent with 2,191 KPM remaining.

As for the Arfak Mountains Regency, until now there has been no distribution of BSP because there are requests from the regional government and local residents for collective distribution.

"They ask for a collective distribution, but there must be a letter from the local Social Service addressed to the Ministry of Social Affairs," explained Kesaulija.

The Arfak Mountains Regency has a fairly large area with quite a distance between districts (districts) and cannot be reached in just one day.

Meanwhile, currently, the PT Posindo Branch Office in Anggi, the capital of the Arfak Mountains Regency, is blocked or blocked by the local community so that it can no longer operate.
