The Kaimana Regency Government helps Rp200 million for fire victims in the Krooy area

The government of Kaimana Regency, West Papua Province handed over Rp200 million in financial assistance for the victims of the fire accident that occurred in the Krooy area a few months ago.

Kaimana Regent Freddy Thie during the symbolic handing over of aid, in Kaimana, Saturday (3/9) 2022, said that the assistance came from an unexpected expense post for the Kaimana 2022 APBD and was directly transferred to the accounts of the victims, each worth Rp. 20 million.

"Don't look at the value, this is a form of concern from the Kaimana Regency Government for those who have experienced disasters. In total there are 10 recipients with a large aid of Rp. 20 million," he said.

The number one person in the Kaimana Regency Government apologized because the distribution of aid for fire victims in the Krooy area could only be realized at this time.

The distribution of the assistance is after the Kaimana BPBD has verified and validated the recipient data.

The Regent said that in the 2022 APBD document there was no special budget for handling disasters.

However, the Kaimana Regency Government did not turn a blind eye to the calamities experienced by the victims so that it issued a policy to seek funds from other sources to help the victims.

"We hope that this little assistance can ease the burden on the victims of the disaster. We are grateful if it is used for business development because it is also much better so that in the future the business will be more successful," said Freddy Thie.

One of the victims' representatives, Supadi, thanked the Kaimana Regency Government for the attention given.

He admitted that the money received will be used to complete the construction of a new place of business.

"Thanks to the Kaimana Regency Government, in this case Mr. Regent Freddy who has helped ease our burden," said Supadi.
