BNPT socializes terrorism prevention to the young generation of Papua

The Indonesian National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) conducted a dissemination of terrorism prevention through the Children of the Nation Music Action Festival (Asik Bang) in order to foster creativity in the field of music so that young people in Papua are concerned.

Head of Sub-Directorate for Community Empowerment of BNPT Colonel Rahmad Suhendro in Jayapura, Monday, said this music festival is a humanist approach so that young Papuans can forget about negative things.

"For Earth of Cenderawasih this festival is the first time because the Papuan Terrorism Prevention Coordination Forum (FKPT) has only been formed in 2022," he said.

According to Rahmad, negative things can emerge as intolerance that leads to radicals, so that BNPT avoids these actions, let alone acts of terrorism.

"By playing music, young people can prevent themselves from being invited to the smell of terrorism that is happening in Indonesia," he said.

He explained that this year there were only three participants, consisting of two bands and one solo, but it was possible that in the future more people would join because the activity was carried out on a massive scale.

"Because the Terrorism Prevention Coordination Forum (FKPT) was only formed in 2022, next year it can be even more massive because it will target universities," he said.

He added that his party really appreciates FKPT Papua which has prepared the Asik Bang music festival.

"Besides Asik Bang, we also have other programs in the field of women and children, making creative videos, then youth making batik, then religion," he said.
