The Manokwari Regency Government prepares two places for the relocation of traders

Manokwari (ANTARA) - The government of Manokwari Regency, West Papua Province, has prepared two places to relocate traders from Sanggeng Market which is about to be rebuilt.

The Regent of Manokwari, Hermus Indou, in Manokwari, Sunday, explained that the two locations are not far from the Sanggeng Market, which is behind the banking area and the other is on Printing Street which is the office area of the Regional Apparatus Organization (OPD).

"We are still preparing two more locations for the relocation of additional traders," said Hermus.

He hoped that the relocation of the traders would run smoothly. The relocation of traders from Sanggeng Market is carried out because the market is planned to be rebuilt starting January 2023.

The Manokwari Regency Government plans to build Sanggeng Market which will take the form of four floors from the current three-story building.

The target for the construction of the Sanggeng Market is expected to be completed in December 2024.

Hermus said that the initial auction of the Sanggeng Market development plan will be carried out in early December 2022.

He targets the relocation of traders to be completed in the next two to three weeks. On the other hand, he said that the construction of the temporary Wosi Market had reached 85 percent.

"In the near future, we will hand it over to the traders according to the list of names that were previously victims of the fire," said Hermus.

The construction of Wosi Market in a permanent form, he said, will begin work after the Sanggeng Market work is completed.
