Four villages in Jayapura Regency received the title of tourist village
A total of four villages located in Jayapura Regency, Papua Province, were awarded the title of tourist village from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) of the Republic of Indonesia.
"We congratulate the villages that have received the tourism village award," said the Jayapura Regent, Mathius Awoitauw, during the award ceremony for the tourism village title which was handed over by the Jayapura Regent to the village head who received the tourism village award at the Ceremony Field of the local Regent's Office. , in Sentani, Papua, Monday.
It was stated that as many as four villages that received the award of the tourism village title were Youkiwa Village, Hobong, Doyo Lama and Rhepang Muaif Village.
According to Mathius Awoitauw, with the award of the tourism village title, his party hopes that in the future all indigenous peoples in Jayapura Regency can build and develop tourism potential in the village.
He explained that developing tourism potential in the village is also the same as strengthening economic resilience both in Papua and other regions in Indonesia because currently several countries are experiencing an economic crisis.
"So one of our mainstays is preserving nature because it will be a creative economy to maintain food security," he said.
The Jayapura Regent added that tourism and the creative economy will be a big force in food and energy security going forward.
"So we hope that in the future the people in the village will be better prepared to face the upcoming situation," he said.
He also hopes that in the future there will be other villages in Jayapura Regency which can receive the tourism village award from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia.
