KPK Asked to Dismantle the Flow of Special Autonomy Funds in Papua, Ismail Asso: We're Worried There's a Game
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) was asked to immediately dismantle the flow of Special Autonomy (Otsus) funds in Papua.
The request was made by a religious leader, Ustaz Ismail Asso, in Jayapura City, Tuesday (11/10/2022).
Ismail said that the KPK must evaluate the total flow of Otsus funds, according to the value of the budget transferred to Papua, be it the source, the financing, and the use.
Because according to him, the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia (Menkopolhukam), Mahfud Md, has said that trillions of Special Autonomy funds have been disbursed by the central government to Papua.
"This means that the KPK must investigate how much Papuan funds and natural resources went into the country and how much was returned," Asso said via his mobile phone, to Tribun-Papua.com.
"Then whether the source of the Special Autonomy funds is fully borne by Jakarta or Papua, this must be clear," he continued.
For this step, Asso hopes that the welfare of the Papuan people can be seen clearly.
In addition, Ismail also questioned the intent and purpose of a number of pemekaran currently taking place in Papua.
Meanwhile, Ismail Asso is worried about the expansion of new regions in the midst of serious problems in Papua.
According to him, there could be business games from various parties in Papua in the future.
"Please open this, and all of us leaders in Papua must meet with the President to discuss what the best steps are for Papua in the future," he concluded.
