Police Arrest 2 KKB Perpetrators of Attacks on TNI and Trans West Papua

Two suspected members of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) who were involved in the attack on members of the TNI and workers on the Trans Papua Barat Road were arrested by the police, said the West Papua Police Chief, Inspector General Daniel Tahi Monang Silitonga on Saturday (15/10/2022).

A member of the KKB who was arrested is known to be involved in the attack on the Kisor Koramil post, South Aifat District, Maybrat Regency on Thursday (2/9/2022) which resulted in the death of four Indonesian Army soldiers. While another is a suspect in the attack on the Trans Papua Barat Road workers in Moskona, Teluk Bintuni which killed four people.

"Yes, that's right. So the DPO for the TNI massacre in Kisor was one person, then one person was the perpetrator of the attack on 14 workers in Moskona," said Inspector General Daniel Tahi Monang Silitonga, confirmed by MNC Portal on Saturday.

The Gakum (Law Enforcement) Team of the West Papua Regional Police also arrested two suspected perpetrators of the murder of officers and civilians. Both are suspected sympathizers of the Separatist Terrorist Group (KST) in the Maybrat area.

the police have released 6 employees of PT Bangun Kayu Irian (BKI). They are then returned to the company.

"The employees of PT BKI have been returned to the company. They are only being asked for information," said the Kapolda.
