Biak Hospital implements patient treatment digitalization services



The Regional General Hospital (RSUD) of Biak Numfor Regency, Papua has implemented information technology to digitize interclinical health services to speed up patient treatment.

"The use of digitalization services at the Biak hospital was driven by the leadership of Director Ricardo Mayor because of a demand. Yes, including patients who want health consultations, they can use telemedicine," said the Biak Hospital Medical Committee Dr. Wayan Widana Sp. Bedah in Biak, Monday.

With digitization services, he said, the doctor immediately gives the results of the examination to be forwarded to take the drug to the pharmacy and make a medical diagnosis for the patient concerned.

He acknowledged that digitalization services helped hospital management improve the quality of service to patients who were treated as outpatients or inpatients.

"Yes, all the results of examining the patient's medical record are kept confidential and stored digitally," he said.

Director of the Biak Hospital, Dr. Ricardo R. Mayor, said that digital technology innovations were applied by Biak hospital management to improve the quality of health services to local residents.

"Biak Hospital continues to innovate in developing digitization of services at the hospital to create easy access for patients' comfort and speed," he said.

He said currently patients who are going for treatment can register online through the Biak Hospital administration service.

"Digital transformation of health services provides speed, practicality and simplifies medical records, laboratory checks to treatment (handling) of patient health," he said.

Based on data, the number of patients seeking treatment at the Biak Hospital reaches 129 thousand per year.
