BPS Papua Deploys 7,000 Regsoskek Officers in Cenderawasih Earth

A total of 7,000 officers were dispatched by the Central Statistics Agency of Papua Province to carry out data collection for Social Economic Registration (Regsoskek).

It is known, Regsoskek will take place from October 15 to November 24, 2022.

The Coordinator of the Social Statistics Function of the BPS Papua Province, Sugiyanto, said that the thousands of officers had previously been given training last September.

"Training is given to officers from Sabang to Merauke so that in carrying out their duties they have the same understanding in carrying out data collection," said Sugiyanto to reporters, Sunday (10/30/2022) in Jayapura.

Sugiyanto said that currently officers are carrying out field data collection.

"To ensure the quality of the data produced in the field, quality monitoring activities are carried out in the same month, while the data collection method is carried out by house-to-house census. Each resident will identify the coordinates of his house," he said.

“'For poor people, their houses will be photographed to indicate that they are really poor,' explained Sugiyanto.

He explained that quite a lot of data were collected, including population and employment, housing, health and disability, social protection, education and economic empowerment.

"The output is a socio-economic database of the entire population that has been sorted from the poorest to the richest," concluded Sugiyanto.
