KKB Papua Attacks Joint Personnel Patrol in Ilaga, A TNI Member Shot in Thigh

A member of the TNI with the initials Serka IDW suffered a gunshot wound to his right thigh due to an attack by a terrorist separatist group or armed criminal group (KKB) in Ilaga, Papua, Sunday (11/13/2022) morning.

Colonel Kav Herman Taryaman, Head of Information for the XVII/Cenderawasih Military Command, confirmed the incident.

According to him, the attack was carried out by the KST gang from the Gome group led by Numbuk Telenggeng against security officers who were carrying out a joint patrol around the Golgota Gome Church in Ilaga.
 
"It is true that there has been a shooting by the KST gang from the Gome group, the leadership of Numbuk Telenggeng, to the security forces who were carrying out a joint patrol around the Golgota Gome Church in Ilaga, Sunday (11/13/2022) at 09.00 Wit," he explained through a written statement.
 
"It resulted in one TNI personnel on behalf of Serka IDW suffering a gunshot wound to the right thigh."

He added that currently the IDW Sergeant who was hit by the shot had been evacuated to the Ilaga Health Center using a Brimob vehicle.

"The IDW Sergeant who suffered a gunshot wound to his right thigh is conscious and has been evacuated using the Carstenz Damai Brimob vehicle to the Ilaga Health Center," said the Head of the Cenderawasih District Military Command.

Herman also explained that after the attack, the situation at the location was conducive and there were no other victims from civilians.
 
"That after the attack and shooting by KST gangs on the Security Forces, the situation is conducive and there are no civilian or community casualties," said Colonel Herman.
 
Previously, armed criminal groups committed another crime by attacking puskesmas workers in Beoga District, Puncak Papua Regency.

As a result of the attack one person died, one was injured and two people escaped.

The attack occurred on Tuesday morning, at 08.30 WIT, against a number of workers building the Beoga Health Center, Puncak Regency.

The attack occurred while the worker was on his way to work and was then blocked, until KKB shot him.

As a result of the shooting, one person named Wahyu died from a gunshot wound to the stomach, one person named Ilham was shot in the right shoulder, while two people managed to escape.

Currently, the joint TNI-POLRI apparatus has succeeded in evacuating the victims of the shooting to Ilaga.

Meanwhile, one victim died and one injured victim was planned to be evacuated to Timika for medical treatment at Mimika Hospital.
