KKB Papua Attacks TNI Patrol in Ilaga District, Central Papua, Serka IDW Shot

TNI soldier, Serka IDW became a victim of the brutality of the Joint Criminal Group or KKB Papua, Sunday 13 November 2022.

Serka IDW was shot in the right thigh while on patrol in the Ilaga District, Puncak Regency, Central Papua.

KKB Papua attacked Serka IDW and other TNI soldiers who were on patrol around the Golgota Gome Church, Ilaga District, Puncak Regency, Sunday at 09.00 WIT.
 
Kapendam XVII/Cenderawasih Colonel Kav Herman Taryawan confirmed this. The authorities have identified that the attacker is the Gome group led by Numbuk Teleggen.

"It is true that the KKB from the Gome group led by Numbuk Telenggen shot at the security forces who were carrying out a joint patrol, Sunday 13 November 2022) at 09.00 Wit," said Herman Taryawan in a written statement.

"This incident resulted in one TNI personnel, Serka IDW, receiving a gunshot wound to his right thigh," he added.

Herman Taryawan confirmed Serka IDW was conscious and had received medical treatment.

"Currently, Serka IDW, who received a gunshot wound to his right thigh, is conscious and has been evacuated using the Cartenz Damai Mobile Brigade Unit vehicle to the Ilaga Health Center," he said.

Herman Taryawan did not know whether the security forces had fired back at the KKB Papua.
 
Despite the attack, the situation in Ilaga remains conducive and the security forces are on alert to anticipate further attacks.
 
"That after the attack and shooting by the KKB on security forces, the situation was conducive and there were no victims from the civilian side or the community," said Herman Taryawan.
