OJK Papua encourages four districts to form TPAKD

The Papua and West Papua Financial Services Authority encouraged four districts to form a Regional Financial Access Acceleration Team (TPAKD) in order to optimize financial services and provide assistance to MSMEs.

Head of the Papua and West Papua Financial Services Authority Muhammad Ikhsan Hutahaean in Jayapura, Papua, Monday said the TPAKD Papua had been formed on August 30 2021 and was joined by 26 other districts/cities in Papua.

"Referring to the Minister of Home Affairs Circular Number 900 concerning the Establishment of TPAKD, it is hoped that by December 2022 all regencies/cities will have been formed, therefore we together need to accelerate their formation," he said.

According to Ikhsan, the four regencies are Sarmi, Paniai, Mamberamo Raya and Mamberamo Tengah.

For this reason, he continued, through the TPAKD coaching clinic activities, his party together with the provincial government could encourage team formation to strengthen financial access infrastructure.

"One of the Papua Province TPAKD programs is the Regional Financial Access Acceleration Program Credit (Papeda), then the One Student One Account (KEJAR) program with a series of KEJAR Achievement Indonesian Young Generation (KREASIMUDA) activities," he said.

He explained that the current level of financial literacy in Papua is 45.19 percent and financial inclusion is 76.36 percent, an increase compared to the 2019 National Financial Literacy and Inclusion Survey (SNLIK) with a financial literacy rate of 29.13 percent and inclusion of 60.89 percent.

"This increase is the result of hard work with related agencies in order to continuously increase financial literacy and inclusion in society," he said.

He added that his party also encouraged other banks, both general and rural banks, to have similar programs, so that they could be integrated and the benefits of the K/PMR program could be felt by the people in remote areas and in the end an even distribution of social welfare was achieved.
