Head of PT IBS: 19 BTS are already operating in Jayapura Regency

PT Infrastruktur Bisnis Sejahtera (PT IBS) as the person in charge of the construction of the Base Transceiver Station (BTS) tower in Jayapura Regency, Papua, stated that currently there are as many as 19 BTS operating in the area.

Head of the Project Management Office of PT IBS Hariwibowo in Sentani, Monday, said that Jayapura Regency has received a quota of 46 BTS towers, of which 39 towers are currently under construction.

"Of the 39 BTS towers, 19 of them are operational, including one BTS which was inaugurated by Jayapura Regent Mathius Awoitauw in Yakonde Village, while 20 BTS are under construction," he said after the inauguration of the BTS in Yakonde Village, Monday.

According to Hariwibowo, there are several locations that are in the process of sending goods or materials for BTS construction using planes and helicopters.

"But we will still complete the BTS construction because this is indeed the commitment of the Kominfo Telecommunications and Information Accessibility Agency (BAKTI) to educate the Papuan generation and increase the rate of economic growth in Papua, especially non-3T (Outermost, Remote and Disadvantaged) and 3T areas," he said .

He explained that the construction of BTS in Jayapura Regency has been carried out since August 16, 2022 so that his party hopes that by the end of 2022 the construction of BTS can become 25 towers.

"Because now there are several locations that are temporarily in the stages of installation and interconnection, then we will continue construction in 2023," he said again.

He added that his party expressed appreciation to the Jayapura Regency Government for overseeing the BTS construction process so that during the construction there were no problems, everything went smoothly.
