KKB Allegedly Shot Two Ojek Drivers to Death in the Bintang Mountains of Papua

The armed criminal group (KKB) is suspected of having shot two motorbike taxi drivers at the Kali Digoel base, Oksem District, Gunung Bintang Regency, Papua Mountains Province. The two victims, La Aman and La Usu, were declared dead.

"The murder that occurred Monday (5/12) was reported to be one of the motorcycle taxi drivers," said the Head of the Gunung Bintang Police, AKBP Cahyo Sukarnito, who contacted him from Jayapura, Papua, Tuesday, December 6, 2022.

Referring to the testimony of a witness named La Sambo who works as a motorcycle taxi driver, at around 12.00 WIT he was heading to the Kali Okse base, Oksebang District. The witness had stopped at the Bulangkop Middle School, and it was seen that La Ati preceded him towards the Okse river base.

At around 14.00 WIT, about 20 meters from the Digoel River base, he met an armed group carrying two rifles so the witness turned his motorbike around.

"Soon we heard three gunshots and the witness immediately headed to Oksibil to report the incident to the Police," he said.

From the report received by the police, three motorcycle taxi drivers are currently being held by the community in Mangabib Village, Oksebang District, while the fate of another is unknown. Today the victim will be transferred.

"Hopefully the evacuation of the bodies of the victims will run safely and smoothly because members are also conducting TKP investigations," said Sukarnito.

Until this news was revealed, there was no explanation from the KKB.
