The Pegaf government extends the 2023 UHC work plan
The government of Arfak Mountains District, West Papua Province extended the community participation work plan to support universal health coverage (UHC) with the Health Social Security Administration Agency (BPJS) for 2023.
Arfak Mountains Regent Yosias Saroy in Anggi, Tuesday said the extension of the work plan with BPJS Health was a form of the Pegaf Regency Government's commitment to ensuring public health services as well as a form of full support for the national strategic program, especially in the health sector.
"As long as there is still a budget, we will continue to prioritize health services, especially for our residents who really need good health services," said Yosias.
Yosias also invited BPJS Health to increase cooperation and synergy to improve health services so that people can experience a decent, prosperous and happy life.
Head of BPJS Arfak Mountains Health Rosani Yarangga said that so far universal health coverage in Arfak Mountains has reached 95 percent or 36,993 out of 38,941 people whose health is guaranteed in the National Health Insurance (JKN) program.
The achievement of the Arfak Mountains Regency Government's participation in JKN has enabled people who are registered and funded by the local government to apply for a Healthy Indonesia Card (KIS) without queuing and can immediately enjoy health services.
In addition, people can also enjoy health services at health facilities in Arfak Mountains District by showing their Identity Card (KTP) at the Puskesmas or at the hospital when being treated at the Emergency Room (ER).
"We very much welcome the collaboration between BPJS Health and the Arfak Mountains Regency Government because the signing of the work plan is a joint commitment in optimizing the implementation of the JKN program going forward," said Rosani.
