Traces of Kalenak Murib, Escaped Convict Who Shot Dead a Bank Papua Employee

The police identified the perpetrator of the shooting at an employee of the Sinak Branch of Bank Papua, in Puncak Regency, Central Papua, as Kalenak Murib. He is a member of the armed criminal group (KKB) who escaped from prison.

“The shooter was Kalenak Murib, a convict who escaped from the Abepura prison. He has shot several times,” said the Directorate of Criminal Investigation of the Papua Police, Kombes Faizal Rahmadhani, as reported by detikSulsel, Tuesday (13/12/2022).
 
He explained that Kalenak Murib was identified as shooting Julius Yumame (32) based on witness statements. But so far it is not known what the motive for the shooting by Kalenak Murib was.
 
The shooting occurred in the Pasar Sinakm area, Kampung Gigobak, Puncak, around 09.00 WIT, Tuesday (13/12). The victim was about to buy yellow rice for breakfast.

"Actually, Kalenak Murib was again subject to customary sanctions by his friends Gholiat Tabuni and Lekagak Telenggen, namely the KKB leaders in the Puncak and Puncak Jaya areas," said Faizal.
 
"He was scolded because Kalenak Murib shot at will. Now he is acting up again," he continued.
