Avoid sharing hoax news on Social Mediapo

Members of the Bhabinkamtibmas District Police of Tolikara Regency, Papua Province invite high school students to be equal in avoiding the behavior of sharing false news or forwarding hoaks that are easily obtained on social media.

The Tolikara police chief through the Kasat Binmas Iptu Widada invited students to clarify any news that was obtained, especially news with unclear sources.

"Take care of the social media manners of Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram, because using a social median can be punished according to IT law," he said in a release received by Antara in Wamena on Thursday.

During the visit the police invited high school students to take part in eradicating illegal payments in the local police precinct.

"There should be no illegal fees. Let's fight together," he said.

During a visit to YPPGI High School, Tolikara Regional Police provided assistance to support positive activities among students.

"We care about children who have talent in volleyball so we provide assistance," he said.

Previously, Tolikara Regional Secretary Anton Warkawani told Antara in Wamena, acknowledging the circulation of hoax news about Corona in Tolikara was quite disturbing for the public, and the government had conducted socialization so that the public was not too panicked due to false news.
